Tiahna Cattanach owns her Style, mood of the shoot for once. Models have their own style too.
Lets hear some honest words from Tiahna Cattanach..
What was the inspiration of the shoot?
Inspiration for me is literally everywhere, I am constantly scanning and looking using the everyday world as inspo. The inspiration for my shoot was specifically more high fashion European and American fashion. I used a lot of Hailey Bieber for inspiration in terms of clothing. I used a lot of Vogue Fashion magazines to really nail the look I was going for. Funny enough I actually used a visual artist that I saw in Sydney for inspiration, so I thought I’d use that creative fun vibe to put with my high fashion Vogue inspo together to create something cool.
What is the most frustrating part of modelling?
I love modelling, I think it’s so much fun and it’s such a great way for me to express myself, however the most frustrating part for me personally is the fact that people don’t know how much goes into it. It is a lot more than just standing in front of a camera. There’s more than just posing, there is a type of grit and substance you need to have. It is something that should not be undervalued, and it is so easy for people to look it over.
Models, photographers, stylists, creatives (on a whole), not just myself, are very intelligent people. We study, we have other jobs and we are valued members in society. It frustrates the hell out of me when people act surprised that we do more than just stand in front or behind a camera.
There is always more than meets the eye.
What style were you going for and why?
I was definitely going for a high fashion vogue look with a bit of a creative twist. Firstly, I love any kind of glasses, so it was only fair I had to use an oversized pair. The European high fashion side of it was a lot to do with the oversized blazers. The messy ‘done but undone’ hair used that kind of style too. I love keeping everything loose and fun, but also a bit cool at the same time. I think in shoots it’s important to have layers. But there really is something so classic about blazers that I love, so it made sense for me to use those.
