What made you choose the venue?
When we were looking for venues we just wanted somewhere really beautiful, intimate and relaxed. The Old Coach Stables wedding venue ticked all of those boxes for us. It had really nice garden areas for an outdoor ceremony, grass paddocks for us to go out for photos, and a reception hall that had really cool stone and wood interiors. And because it was so pretty, I didn’t have to do a lot of decorating – it did all the work!
Why did you pick Michael Boyle Photography
Another photographer that we had contacted recommended Michael. We had a look at his Instagram page and were really impressed by his work from other weddings. His photos were absolutely breathtaking and really unique compared to other photographer pages we’d looked at. When we reached out, he was friendly, easy to deal with and asked a bunch of questions to get to know us. So we felt like we were in very good hands, and were very pleased he was available on our date and happy to travel the old coach stables wedding venue.
What was your favourite detail?
My favourite detail were definitely the flowers (She Follows Floral Design) . Dani did such an incredible job. They added really beautiful pops of colour all throughout the venue, and looked amazing with the bridal party.
Favourite moment?
My favourite moment would probably have been listening to the speeches. I felt so much love for my friends and family, they said so many beautiful things and shared so many fun memories. Lots of laughter and tears!
The reason you had the wedding In the remote location?
I think more than anything it’s because of how beautiful the country is. Something about it is just really peaceful and relaxing, and made for a really nice vibe on the day. I also loved that us and the bridal party were able to go wandering through the paddocks for our photos – that was epic! The Old Coach Stables is the best place to hold a wedding..
Tell me a little about the vendors
The Old Coach Stables was our venue and also did the catering. Melinda, who runs the stables, was really great to deal with and was there to answer my million questions leading up to the day. She made sure the day ran really smoothly, and the food was absolutely delicious!
Our florist was Dani from She Follows Floral Design. I had seen her work on Instagram which is what made me want her to do my wedding florals. She was great during our consultations and was really open to and excited about all of my ideas. And the flowers turned out perfect and exactly what I wanted.
For the reception we had the band Rich Pitcher play. They’re from Goulburn where we live and we’d had seen them play local gigs and at other events we’d been to. They were so much fun! They played all the classics and had us dancing all night long. They also provided a photo booth with heaps of props which was awesome to have on the night and is great to look back on all the funny photos of our guests.
For our celebrant we had Kelly Anable. She was such a joy, and made Brody and I feel really at ease leading up to the day and during the ceremony. She helped us with our vows and made everything run really smoothly.
Lastly Tell me about the dress
The dress is ‘Frankie’ by the designer Wendy Makin. I first tried it on when we visited Penrith Bridal Centre, as it was showing in a trunk show on the day we went. It’s an all ivory, off the shoulder a-line dress, with a thigh high slit in the skirt. It’s super classic and was exactly the style I wanted!
