Waldara wedding for Anastasia & Hayden

Waldara… what can I say.. its a beautiful venue! nestled in a valley just ten minutes outside of Oberon and only 2.5hrs from Sydney. Anastasia & Hayden picked the best venue. It offers Ceremony, accomodation, reception all onsite and not to mention a million worthy location for photos.. I could just spend weeks photographing there.. check out the venue here

So I ask Anastasia to answer some questions about her wedding and about her experience.

What made you choose the Waldara for your wedding?

As soon as we drove through the front gates of Waldara and saw the picturesque venue we fell in love immediately and wants to have our wedding there. We got such a great vibe from the reception hall and the two homesteads that we immediately pictured ourselves here with all our family, friends and loved ones. Waldara wedding is a DIY venue, and we could really make it whatever we wanted, which is exactly what we did making it feel like our fairy-tale.

What was your favourite detail?

Having the invitations, menu cards, place cards, thank you cards and favour cards printed with the same art work. My friend created a watercolour artwork on A4 paper which we scanned into Optimal Print as a custom template and created beautiful, custom pieces that were printed and delivered within a week.

Favourite moment?

I can’t decide between two favourite moments. One from the night before the big day, when I stepped back and saw all of our closest family and friends helping with all the preparations at the reception hall – setting up the tables, making the flower arrangments, folding napkins etc and I realised how lucky Hayden and I are to have all these incredible people in our lives making our dream wedding become a reality. The other moment was when I saw Hayden whilst walking down the aisle – the feeling of knowing that I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend was the best feeling in the world.

The reason you had the wedding In the remote location?

We wanted our wedding to feel like a little vacation for everyone. Escaping from everyday life and making everyone feel relaxed and festive was our main goal, and after the year that was its exactly what everyone needed.. Waldara delivered.

Tell us a little about the vendors

I was extremely picky when looking for vendors, because I wanted to make the right decision and make sure I didn’t regret anything after the wedding, knowing I did everything I could to make sure I was happy with every single vendor on the day.

Dress: Two Birds Bridal
Photography: Michael Boyle Photography
Videography: Gilbert Mac Video
Hair and makeup: Brooke Low
Florist: Spicers Floral
Invitations: Ermina MD / Vistaprint
Band: White Tree Hill
Catering: Drew Bolton Catering
Signage: La Boda

Lets talk about the dress

I knew from the beginning that I didn’t want anything tight – so I felt accentuating my waist line would still make me feel feminine. Going for a more classic skirt I wanted to spice up the top half of the dress and that’s why I opted for a low cut.

One word of advise for other brides

Make sure that all your preparations complete before your big day, and you aren’t organising anything or anyone on they day. Your wedding day is all about you. Also make sure you settle all the final details with your vendors a week before the wedding. There is nothing worse having phone calls and emails the week of your wedding whilst you’re scrambling to complete all the other bits and pieces.

Have a list of all the small things that need doing in the lead up: bread baskets, S+P shakers, needle and thread (always) and tick them off the list as you go. It’s so easy to forget these small things.
Also have a plan for the day (run sheet) + contact numbers of all the vendors which other people are across, this way if anything happens you can direct someone else to take care of it, so you’re not stressing out.

Why did you pick Michael Boyle Photography

I found Michael’s page on Instagram and fell in love with his work straight away. I saw that he worked with a lot of natural light and his photo’s won’t highly edited or photoshopped. All of his photos looked very natural and not staged. On the day we got to experience him work his magic. I honestly forgot that we were being photographed the whole day, instead we were just having so much fun and felt very relaxed which I think portrayed in the photos.
