Jackalope Hotel Wedding of Leanne & James
So here we have the wedding of Leanne and James on the Mornington Peninsula at Australia’s most prestigious Jackalope Hotel.
I asked leanne the beautiful bride to answer a few questions to give her point of view of the day and to shed some light on her options. see below.
What made you choose the venue?
James & myself visited in December 2018 and fell in love with the region, plus the architectural and artistic properties of the hotel itself! The vineyard is gorgeous & the reception venue’s F&B selection was outstanding!
The reason you had the wedding Melbourne?
Because we love the natural beauty & pinots of the Peninsular wine region! Also gave a good opportunity for guests to have a holiday somewhere perhaps they’d never been.
What was your favorite detail?
So we really loved the selection of the colors scheme & themes to the wedding. James wore black & gold to tie in with the hotel’s aesthetic & ‘alchemy’ theme. We chose a deep shade of green & carried that out from our stationary to the table settings. The florals by Jo Laver Flowers were just divine, a lot of classic white long stemmed roses!
Tell me about the dress
I wanted to support Australian Made & have always loved KWH designs. ‘Nikki’ was the second dress I tried on & did not even need to keep shopping. Above all it was well fitted as I am so body conscious and it was ridiculously comfortable. I knew I wanted something very classicly plain – no over the top lace or beading but still had to have outstanding features such as the blouson sleeves with buttoned cuffs. The dress allowed my very modern accessories from Dinosaur Designs, Valentino & From St. Xavier to really stand out!
I’m glad we…
Most noteworthy, we had a rockin’ vinyl DJ who understood our vibe! We communicated to him that music was everything for us & he sure made it special!
The ceremony was magic – the celebrant comprehended what we wanted delivered on the day & it was super personalised. We enjoyed sharing our story with the guests with many laughs. That champagne tower to wrap that component of the day was super special, too! A hit with the guests.
Finally, Why did you pick Michael Boyle Photography?
Above all Michael’s artistic talent is evident in all his shoots. He has a great understanding for using the elements & principles of design to maximise uniqueness of a shoot – just check out that cellar shot! On fire! We knew he would have the perfect eye for making the venue sing! He seamlessly blended into the day & enjoyed himself thoroughly.
Tell me a little about the vendors
“I’d never met my MUA Sophie Knox before but when I saw her social media & credentials I knew I had to have her doll me up! I showed her 3 inspiration images & she somehow nailed every aspect I loved! She was pleasant to work with& had a ball with my friends getting ready”
Hair was created by my long term hair dresser& beautiful friend Tennelle from D’Luxe Salon in Windang. I have such tricky, fine hair & can always depend on her to come up with a masterpiece! I showed her a picture & she absolutely nailed it… plus ruled the dance floor later that night!
Stationary was created by Laura Elizabeth Designs & we worked together to create that beautiful green & white theme.
Florist as mentioned above Jo Laver Flowers. Ceremony set up was curated by Jacqui at In2u Ceremonies – we hired the most beautiful circular arbor & her & Jo came up with such a stunning setting for us!
